Jim Gold has more than 30 years’ experience in the in the Civil Engineering field.  He attended Montana State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Engineering Technology.

 

After graduation, he went to work for a medium-sized geotechnical engineering firm, based out of Spokane Washington. He gained extensive experience in materials testing and inspection, drilling, sampling and testing of soils for geotechnical investigations.

 

Returning to Great Falls, Jim worked for a small, locally-owned civil engineering firm. He became proficient with the AutoCad/Civil 3D drafting software and also with the Microstation/Geopak design package. He has done drafting and design for several MDT highway projects, many subdivisions and utility projects, has extensive surveying and construction inspection experience. Jim also has several years’ experience in airport design, drafting and inspection.

 

Since joining Big Sky Civil and Environmental, he has focused on petroleum release sites, managing investigations and remediation and providing environmental site assessments.
